The Power of Encouragement

Inspire your child with encouragement. Your encouragement will help your child to see that their positive qualities and behavior is being recognized and appreciated.

I love you so much. When you smiled and giggled, you touched my heart.

After our hugs and kisses last night, I noticed that you stayed in your bedroom. I heard you listening to your Shining Light CD just before you went so easily to sleep.

I watched you practice and then you got it! You have a great “I can” attitude.

When at the traffic light, I noticed you made eye contact with all the drivers before you crossed the street. You are being very safe and street smart when you do that.

Create a “Wish List” for the fridge. When your child asks for something, validate their wish by putting it on the wish list. Before a special occasion ask them to review the list. By giving them an item from the list they are validated and reminded that they can achieve what they wish for!
